Tasty Vadapav: A Barodian Legacy

“Tasty Vadapav” is not just a snack; it’s an iconic flavor that every Barodian has relished at least once.

Humble Beginnings

  • Started in 2005 by Bharat Agrawal, as a small ‘Laari’ (cart) on the footpath of Nizampura.
  • Bharat, a proud Marwadi from Rajasthan, was one of seven family members in the Agrawal household.

While the family had a single business, it wasn’t feasible for all seven to join it. With a vision to carve his own path, Bharat decided to start his ‘laari’ selling Vadapav at the busy streets of Nizampura.

The Perfect Spot for Youngsters

Nizampura, bustling with tuition centers, attracted a youthful crowd looking for affordable snacks.

  • Challenges at the Start: Selling even 100 Vadapavs a day was tough initially.
  • Turning Point: Slowly but surely, the signature flavor of ‘Tasty Vadapav’ became the talk of the town, leaving an unforgettable sensation on the tongues of Barodians.

The Rise of Tasty Vadapav

  • As business picked up, Bharat shifted from his footpath ‘Laari’ to a rented shop.
  • However, believing the ‘Laari’ brought him luck, he kept it as his signature counter.
  • With the growing popularity of Tasty Vadapav, Bharat eventually bought two shops near Ghelani Petrol Pump, a prime location in Nizampura, and moved his business there.

A Taste That Rules Vadodara

  • From a one-man operation to a thriving business with a team of 10 staff members, Tasty Vadapav now sells over 4,000 Vadapavs daily!
  • Despite imitators using the ‘Tasty Vadapav’ name, the original shop remains unique, with no other branches.

Future Plans

Bharat aims to expand the Tasty Vadapav brand by:

  1. Innovating new flavors of Vadapav.
  2. Opening more branches across Vadodara while staying true to the original taste.

The Lucky Laari That Started It All

The ‘Lucky Laari’ is now an inseparable part of the Tasty Vadapav legacy, standing tall as a symbol of determination, hard work, and delicious success.
